1/2 empty or 1/2 full?...
I watched a movie (Chris, my tutor and friend, thx for
lending) called 'Cageman'...it's actually a pretty old
hong kong local movie, but it is a multi-awarded one...
I think it's a very meaningful account of everyday
life of the locals...it's about the social life of the
cagemen...those who rent a cage to live in...
about the life and death of a cageman estate...
typical but original, expressing the bitterness of the
proletariats...the sinisterness of politics...
among which I found most impressive is a quote by
the drunken taoist, he said:
'the life of an emotional being is a tragedy;
the life of a rational being is a comedy.'
it sounds quite true to me...it applies to everyone of
us...just that how we r going to get our balance...
either ends wouldn't lead to an ideal totality of life...
frankly, I'm a loser in such balancing...but realising
the fundamentals I guess is better than none...haha
whether in fact if it is 1/2 empty or 1/2 full is not
important anymore, it's just a matter of perspective.
